To celebrate the release of F1 25 today, Codemasters unveiled a surprise feature that’s already being called “too real” by fans. Officially titled Career Limiter, the new mode offers players the opportunity to assume the roles of Fernando Alonso, Liam Lawson, or Jack Doohan — each presenting a unique and increasingly demoralizing career scenario modeled with incredible realism.

Play as Fernando Alonso
Experience the thrill of absolutely nothing. Drive lap after lap with pinpoint precision only to watch your car spontaneously combust, fall behind due to strategic miscommunication, or pit just as the Safety Car is called. Scoring points? Forget it. Hope? Deleted.

Play as Liam Lawson
Relive the magic of trying to do everything right... only to be immediately replaced. Even if you win both opening races, the game overrides your save file with a cutscene of Helmut Marko going, "We already told Yuki he could have a shot at it.”

Play as Jack Doohan
This is the most challenging mode — because you don’t even get to play. The moment you select Doohan, the game uninstalls itself. Permanently. No reinstall option, no refund, just a popup that reads: “Maybe in 5 races?”

Rumors suggest future DLC may add a “Red Bull Second Seat” scenario, where you spend an entire season being compared to Max Verstappen while desperately trying to get out of Q1.
